KEAUHOU, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) -
A brush fire at Keauhou Ranch has been 95 percent contained
after it burned four acres on Friday afternoon.
According to Hawaii County Fire Department officials, the
brush fire near the Keauhou Bird Sanctuary was first reported at 3:12 p.m.
A helicopter helped fight the fire until nightfall, when the
blaze was about 80 percent contained. Operations continued into the night, and
by midnight the fire was 95 percent contained.
Firefighters continue to address hotspots and prevent further
spreading.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
