HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Repairs have been finished on a traffic light on Nimitz Highway near City Mill that was blocking the right lane going eastbound after it went down due to an earlier traffic accident that was cleared just after 5 a.m.
A man driving a gray sedan fell asleep at the wheel heading townbound when he struck a van in the right lane heading in the same direction. He then veered to the left and struck the pole of a traffic light.
The light was initially blocking the sidewalk.
Police gave the driver of the sedan a sobriety test.
No injuries were reported.
