(HawaiiNewsNow) - Farmers Insurance Hawaii will hold a special Halloween Trick-or-Treat Hot Spots Traffic Safety event this Wednesday, October 31 from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at Kaimuki High School to remind drivers to slow down and watch for pedestrians crossing streets.
Farmers Hawaii employees will join HPD's District 7 Community Policing Unit, and Kaimuki High students and teachers for the sign-waving event to help raise awareness for pedestrian safety and remind drivers to watch out for keiki and pedestrians who will be out celebrating Halloween. To help promote safe street crossing, volunteers will be handing out tricks or treats to pedestrians and drivers during the Hot Spots event.
Kaimuki High School is located on Kaimuki Avenue, a congested and busy traffic thoroughfare with drivers heading into Waikiki or to Kapiolani Boulevard to access the H-1 freeway on-ramp. The school is also surrounded by neighborhoods with many young children who are expected to be out and about for Halloween.
