BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The build up to LSU's showdown against Alabama has started with the Tide coming in to Tiger Stadium as a 9 1/2 to 10 point favorite and the question being asked, if LSU wins, will the SEC be left out of the BCS Title game? Here is a taste of "What They are Saying":

From ESPN:

No, we don't have a Honey Badger or Trent Richardson, but we have two swarming defenses and major BCS implications on the line.

From the New York Times:

The Tide and the SEC could conceivably be left out of the BCS title game if Alabama doesn't go 12-0.

From SI.com:

If ever the Tide are to be tested, it figures to be Saturday in what will surely be the season's most hyped game. No. 1 Alabama (8-0) will travel to No. 5 LSU (7-1) in the latest chapter of a two-year, three-game grudge fest.

From ESPN:

It's LSU week in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and the intensity is palpable. At this point in the year, there's no point in hiding it. No. 1 Alabama and No. 6 LSU are playing for keeps. The winner moves on, the loser likely makes reservations for a non-BCS bowl.

From NOLA.com:

A weekly look at the plot lines as the No. 5-ranked Tigers take on their biggest challenge of the 2012 season when No. 1 Alabama comes to town for a showdown that could settle the SEC West Division race.

From the Bleacher Report:

When the two SEC juggernauts meet on Saturday night in Baton Rouge, many of the same storylines will exist that created the "Game of the Century" hoopla a year ago.

From AL.com:

The upcoming game at LSU is the first game that begs for a numbing look at numbers since the last time these two teams played ... or the time before that.

From NOLA.com:

Injuries began to affect the LSU-Alabama game way back in the second week of the season when starting left tackle Chris Faulk went down with a season-ending knee injury.

From the Montgomery Advertiser:

Since Alabama beat LSU 21-0 on Jan. 9 in the BCS title game, it seemed as if the Tide's thoughts pointed to the rematch.
