HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Hawaiian Airlines cancelled Maui-bound flight, HA516, that was slated to depart Honolulu at 10 p.m. and flight HA515, which was slated to leave Maui for Honolulu later this evening.
Keoni Wagner, vice president of public affairs for Hawaiian Airlines, said 67 Maui-bound passengers from the U.S. mainland were stranded by the cancellation of flight HA516.
"We have put them at a hotel near the airport for the night. We'll be sending them to Maui first thing in the morning," Wagner said. "No folks on the return flight from Maui were visitors."
While some residents in Honolulu and Maui were impacted by the change in travel plans, Wagner said he was unaware of anyone else needing assistance
