Woman charged with attempted murder in Aiea stabbing

A 54-year-old woman was charged with second degree attempted murder on Thursday after she allegedly stabbed her husband multiple times at their home in Aiea early Wednesday morning.

Shu-Na Hsiao was arrested just before 3:30 a.m. Wednesday after police and emergency crews responded to reports of a stabbing at a home on Moanalua Road. The victim, Hsiao's 58-year-old husband, was taken to Queen's Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

He reportedly underwent surgery after being stabbed in the back, chest, hands, and face.

Police have recovered the weapon used in what is being called a domestic dispute, and have identified it as a kitchen knife.

The stabbing occurred at Harbor Pointe Apartments in an upper floor unit. The couple owns the property and has only lived there for three weeks.

Hsiao is being held on $50,000 bail.
