Pensacola reopened after water main break

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

*** Update: Board of Water Supply crews have completed road repair and re-opened the two left lanes on Pensacola St. so that all lanes by Hoolai St. are once again open to traffic. The BWS thanks motorists and the community for their patience and understanding as crews worked to restore water service and re-open the lanes as quickly as possible. ***

Board of Water Supply crews responded to a water main break near the corner of Pensacola Street and Hoolai Street.

The break was reported at about 2:30 p.m. yesterday, and forced the closure of the two left lanes on Pensacola Street as well as the complete closure of Hoolai Street due to the resulting debris.

The Board of Water Supply crews reported that at about 5 a.m. today that they had restored water to the area, but were still working to finish repairs.

Crews re-opened the far right lane on Pensacola Street shortly after 7:30 a.m. Currently, only the two right lanes of traffic are open as the two left lanes remain closed for road repair.

Crews say they should be finished patching the road by noon.
