One killed, two injured after Waialua head-on collision

WAIALUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - One man is dead following a head-on collision between two pick-up trucks in Waialua.

The crash happened at 10:30 a.m. on Kaukonahua Road.

Police say a man in his 30s was driving a blue Ford Ranger toward Waialua when it crossed over the center line and struck a white Toyota pickup truck head-on.

The driver of the Toyota, a 52-year-old man, was taken to the Queen's Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

He was identified on Saturday as Kenton Kuwada of Waialua.

The passenger in the Toyota, a woman in her 70s was taken to the Queen's Medical Center in critical condition she was later upgraded to serious condition.

Police say the man driving the Ford was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

It is unknown if speed, alcohol, or drugs were factors in the crash.
