KAILUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Honolulu police have given the all-clear after they surrounded a fumigated home where they believed a burglary suspect had been holed up.
Police were called to the Kailua home on Hamakua drive around 10 a.m after a fumigation worker found two guns near the front door and evidence of a break-in at the home.
SWAT was called in and portions of Hamakua and Keolu Drive were closed while police conducted operations in the area.
An employee of Kama'aina Termite & Pest Control reportedly arrived at the location and noticed a large cut in the tent before seeing the guns near the front door. Workers heard noises coming from inside the tented house and then notified a supervisor, who called police.
Police initially believed that a suspect or suspects were inside the home. Police say no one was found inside the home.
