Missing diver found dead near Yokohama Bay

A diver who was reported missing in waters off of Yokohama Bay on Sunday has been found dead, according to officials from the Honolulu Fire Department.

HFD received a call at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Sunday regarding a man who was missing. At the time, the man's family said they were unsure when or where he went, but that he had probably gone diving.

After the man's car was discovered in the Yokohama Bay area, a search was launched between Makua Cave and Yokohama Bay. Divers discovered the man's body approximately 20 feet underwater in a cave close to the shoreline at approximately 11:45 a.m.

He was taken, unresponsive, to the Waianae Small Boat Harbor, where he was pronounced dead.
