A diver who was reported missing in waters off of
Yokohama Bay on Sunday has been found dead, according to officials from the
Honolulu Fire Department.
HFD received a call at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Sunday
regarding a man who was missing. At the time, the man's family said they were
unsure when or where he went, but that he had probably gone diving.
After the man's car was discovered in the Yokohama Bay
area, a search was launched between Makua Cave and Yokohama Bay. Divers
discovered the man's body approximately 20 feet underwater in a cave close to
the shoreline at approximately 11:45 a.m.
He was taken, unresponsive, to the Waianae Small Boat
Harbor, where he was pronounced dead.
