(KAILUA-KONA) – Sometimes you don't need to win an event to
be a champion. Those who know Bonner
Paddock know this to be true.
As a Senior VP for Young's Market Company, Paddock is a
highly successful professional. However,
it's in life, and athletics, where he is a true inspiration.
Paddock has cerebral palsy, a condition which can affect
movement, hearing, vision and thought processes. However, he isn't using it as a crutch, or an
excuse.
"Everything is 99% mental, so you just need to have the
means to do it. I got two legs, two arms…really,
I've got all the tools that I need" said Paddock, who competed in the 2012 Kona
Ironman Triathlon.
He didn't do this just for himself.
"My goal for Ironman was to raise $1,000,000 for my
foundation."
100% of the money raised will go to construction of learning
centers to serve children with or without disabilities in Orange County, CA and
across the world, and services at centers that the foundation is already a part
of.
