Ahuimanu home badly damaged by fire

KANEOHE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Four people are homeless after a fire gutted a two-story home Friday afternoon.

Authorities say one person was at home when the fire started around 11:45 a.m., he was sleeping when he heard a loud explosion.  

The fire happened at 47-630 Hui Iwa street in the Heeia/Ahuimanu area of Windward Oahu.

It was brought under control at approximately 12:12 p.m.  The cause of the fire and amount of damage is unknown at this time.

No injuries were reported.
