Born and raised in Anahola Hawaiian Homes I have witnessed and heard the concerns of our Hawaiian community. The main issues for Hawaiians statewide are supporting their families, having a good job, sending their children to college or vocational training, taking care of their aging kupuna, access to healthcare. As a Kamehameha School graduate I learned to be proud of my Hawaiian blood and the need to give back to my Hawaiian community. As a former Kauai State Representative and Kauai Councilmember I have the experience to expand OHA's programs by creating partnerships with Kamehameha Schools, Federal, State, County governments, and private enterprise to further OHA's reach into the Hawaiian community. We will have better educational opportunities, job training, healthcare, all done through a spirit of aloha and malama. I look forward to this opportunity.
