(HawaiiNewsNow) - If you're 65 and older, now's your chance to join medicare or change your current plan. Open enrollment for medicare starts next week from October 15th to December 7th. You can sign up for medicare, 3 months before your 65th birthday.
Health officials urge you to do your homework so you can pick the best plan for your needs. But make sure you give yourself plenty of time to research because it can take some time to compare various plans and options.
There are a lot of resources out there to help you but health officials say it starts with knowing how much care you need and that means talking with your doctor and family.
