Waipahu man in critical condition after single-vehicle crash

PEARL CITY, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police said speed and alcohol were factors in an early-morning motor vehicle crash that left a Waipahu man in critical condition.

According to authorities, the crash happened at 4:20 a.m. Sunday on Farrington Highway, about 325 feet west of the Kamehameha Highway overpass.

Investigators said the 25-year-old man was traveling west on Farrington Highway when he lost control of the vehicle, which then left the roadway, hit a tree stump and came to rest in a ditch.
