BRIDGE CHANGES AT SCHOFIELD

Heads up to commuters. There's another change to traffic prompted by the closure of the Karsten Thot Bridge. Starting this morning, Schofield will limit turns outside McNair and Macomb Gates. Drivers exiting McNair will only be allowed to turn right onto Wilikina Drive between 5 and 7:30 AM and 4 to 6:30 PM Monday to Friday. Left turns into the gate will not be allowed during these hours. For Macomb Gate, exiting drivers can only turn left from 4 to 6:30 PM. Only left turns will be allowed into Macomb. Ramsay will show us live on Sunrise how this move is affecting congestion on Wilikina Drive.

BEN CAYETANO'S TRAFFIC PLAN

Today, Honolulu Mayoral candidate Ben Cayetano will unveil plans for easing traffic congestion on Oahu. Cayetano's previous plans for bus rapid transit have been criticized by opponent Kirk Caldwell. Caldwell says it would actually cost more than rail and not alleviate traffic congestion. Look for details on his new traffic plan on HawaiiNewsNow.com or tonight on Hawaii News Now.

HIGH SURF ADVISORY

A high surf advisory is in effect from 6 this morning until 6 tomorrow night. 6 to 8 foot waves are expected. Watch for dangerous breaking waves and hazardous rip currents. Dan has more ahead on Sunrise.

MORE TSUNAMI DEBRIS

Another suspected piece of tsunami debris has surfaced at Laie Beach. Buoys that appear identical to Japanese oyster buoys have now been spotted off Oahu, Big Island and Kauai. If you see any debris, call DLNR at 587-0400.

UH SEX ASSAULT

There are reports of a sex assault on the UH Manoa campus. We know that it was a sexual assault Saturday night at a student housing apartment involving a student and more than one perpetrator. Not much more information to go on so police want your leads.

JENNIFER'S JUMP

And our newest member of Sunrise, Jennifer Robbins takes a leap of faith. She will do a tandem skydive this morning live with the Red Bull Airforce. They're in town for the Kaneohe Bay Airshow. Watch for Jennifer's jump this morning in our 7 o'clock hour of Sunrise.

See you on Sunrise!

Aloha,

Tannya Joaquin
