HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Cirque du Soleil is pleased to announce its return to Honolulu at the Blaisdell Arena with the incredible touring production Quidam from October 4 - 14, 2012.
"After the great success of Saltimbanco in 2008 and Alegria in 2010, Cirque du Soleil is thrilled to return to Hawai'i with this new show. Quidam is a prime example of the high quality and unique entertainment that we're known for worldwide," shared Finn Taylor, General Manager of Cirque du Soleil Venue Shows. "And yet the show is a complete departure from the others we've brought to Hawai'i… Different acts, costumes, music… a whole new experience!"
"It is especially exciting to be able to bring the true Cirque du Soleil experience to Hawai'i since this is where are name was born," continued Taylor. More than 20 years ago, Cirque founder Guy Laliberté was enjoying the incomparable beauty of a beach on the Island of Hawai'i. As he looked up at the blazing sun, he dreamt of a circus like the world had never seen. One that was inspired and full of energy… like the Hawaiian sun. Hence, Cirque du Soleil (Circus of the Sun) was born.
Quidam is a Cirque du Soleil classic and an internationally acclaimed production that has entertained more than 10 million people worldwide since its world premiere in Montreal in 1996. Since that time, the production has toured on five continents and been enjoyed by millions of people. In December 2010, Quidam embarked on a new journey, performing the same captivating production, but now in arenas throughout North America. The international cast features 52 world-class acrobats, musicians, singers and characters.
