High surf advisory issued for north, west facing shores

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Weather Service says a high surf advisory remains in effect for the north and west facing shores of Kauai, Niihau and Oahu.

The advisory was also issued for the north facing shores of Molokai and Maui.

Forecasters say the north-northwest swell will slowly decrease, but should remain at advisory levels through late Monday afternoon.

Surf is between 10 to 15 feet along north facing shores, and eight to 12 feet along west facing shores. Surf is expected to drop below advisory levels by Monday evening.

The advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m.
