Honolulu's average price climbed to $4.36 a gallon for regular unleaded – three cents more than last week, 18 cents more than last month and 27 cents higher than a year ago at this time.

In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.42 a gallon, an increase of seven cents from last week, 18 cents more than last month and 14 cents more than this time last year.

"The price of oil has been up and down in recent days and we're unsure if how it will impact gas prices here in the near future," said AAA Hawaii Regional Manager Diane Peterson. "We urge drivers to continue conserving fuel by using fuel-saving techniques or carpooling."
