HONOLULU - The Oahu Nursery Growers Association will feature free talks about growing plants on Saturday and Sunday, September 22 - 23, 2012 at Thomas Square. The featured speakers are experts in their field and the topics include:
-Grow Food and Flowers in Your Garden, by Landscape Consultant Heidi Bornhorst, 10 a.m.
-Native Hawaiian Plants, by Dennis Kim of Native Plant Source, 12 noon
-Anthuriums, by Alvin Tsuruda of Waihale Products, 1 p.m.
-Hibiscus, by Jill Coryell, the Hibiscus Lady, 2 p.m.
-Water Gardens, by Brian Panee of Happy Koi Nursery, 3 pm
-Orchids, by Ken Ibara of Hawaii Pacific Orchids, 10 a.m.
-Water Gardens, by Brian Panee of Happy Koi Nursery, 11 a.m.
-The Beauty of Hibiscus, by Jill Coryell, the Hibiscus Lady, 1 p.m.
-Hybridization of Hibiscus by Glenn Nii of Charles Nii Nursery, 2 p.m.
The talks will take place at Thomas Square, where the Oahu Nursery Growers Association will have its Plant Sale Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no admission charge. Street parking is usually available on Young and Victoria Streets and for a fee at Linekona Center and Blaisdell Center.
