It's our small way of saying thanks. Today, in honor of Sunrise's 5th anniversary, we're giving away a $500 gas card. To enter, text 76Hawaii to HNN808 (466808) up until 7:30 this morning.
SUNRISE CELEBRATES 5 YEARS
We have a lot planned for this morning. From news highlights and the best bloopers to special guests and a walk down memory lane with original members Grace Lee and Jeff Booth, join us as we look back at 5 years of Sunrise.
We're also following commuter problems now that the Karsten Thot Bridge is closed for immediate repairs. It will be shut down for 6 weeks while crews replace or repair the bridge's steel beams and rivets. Ramsay will be live with the latest on Sunrise and Danielle Tucker will be monitoring traffic across Oahu. Updates every 10 minutes on Sunrise, and when you hit the road on AM 1500.
Mayor Peter Carlisle and HART CEO Dan Grabauskas will meet in Washington DC this week about rail funding. We'll be following developments on Hawaii News Now.
Has it been a year already? Protestors in more than 30 cities will mark Occupy Wall Street's one year anniversary. The movement spread in the name of ending foreclosure, racial inequality, debt and other issues. In Honolulu, about a dozen tents are still lined up on the Beretania sidewalk of Thomas Square. Today, Occupy Honolulu will start with a rally at the State Capitol, then march to University and Dole. That's where they plan to set up for a week long camp.
HAWAII FIVE-O PREMIERE
6 days and counting until the Hawaii Five-O Sunset on the Beach premiere. Billy V will emcee the event for the third straight year and have more on the star studded affair this morning, including why Alex O'Loughlin really wanted to celebrate with fans in Waikiki.
Hope to see you on Sunrise!
