Republik nightclub cleared for full capacity

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - More than two weeks after hundreds of ticket holders couldn't get into a Third Eye Blind concert, the Republik nightclub has received approval from the Honolulu Fire Department to allow occupancy up to 1,000 people.

On August 30, fire department officials limited occupancy to just 299 people for the concert because the nightclub did not have current documents on the testing and approval for the venue's fire alarm and automatic sprinkler system.

The fire department said as of Friday afternoon, the Republik's documentation and inspections were completed and up to date.

The group Chevelle was scheduled to play at the Republik Saturday night.
