HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - University of Hawaii head football coach Norm Chow has announced that he will reinstate UH quarterback Cayman Shutter and punter Alex Dunnachie.
The two were arrested over the summer on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Chow has issued the following statement regarding the status of quarterback Cayman Shutter and punter Alex Dunnachie.
"After much consideration and discussion with our coaches and team leadership council, I have decided to reinstate Cayman Shutter and Alex Dunnachie for our fourth game of the season. I have always emphasized the importance of responsibility and accountability; I also recognize that none of us are perfect and sometimes deserve a second chance. Cayman and Alex have done everything we have asked them to do since they were arrested this summer, and I am confident that they have learned from their mistakes.
I hope Cayman, Alex and all of our student-athletes understand that it is a privilege to play football for the University of Hawai'i. At all times, I expect our players to act in a manner that positively represents themselves, their teammates, our University and our community. They have missed a considerable amount of time and will need to continue to work hard to compete for playing time."
