Oahu coqui fighters need help finding frogs

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Oahu officials are asking for help to track down invasive coqui frogs.

Listen for the frogs loud mating calls tonight between 7:30 and 8 p.m. If you hear anything report it with the City and County of Honolulu's new mobile app "Honolulu 311."

The Oahu Invasive Species Committee (OISC) says the invasive coqui frogs continue to "hitchhike" to Oahu from the Big Island.

The OISC hopes to catch them before they have a chance to establish, spread and cause harm to Oahu.

For this event, the OISC wants you to report if you DID or DID NOT hear coqui frogs.

      1. Download the free Honolulu 311 app onto your smartphone. 

      2. Select from the options below and follow the instructions for reporting:
         •  I DID hear a coqui frog
         •  I DID NOT hear a coqui frog
