HONOLULU – University of Hawaii Associate Athletic Director for Administrative Services Carl Clapp was not hired by the University of Montana for their Athletic Director position.
UM instead went with an internal hire, promoting Associate Athletic Director Kent Haslam.
Clapp has been at UH for over six years in the associate position, but has had experience as an AD before. Before coming to Manoa, he was Athletic Director at St. Mary's college in California for six years. Clapp was the AD at two other institutions prior to St. Mary's, at the University of Redlands, from 1995-2000, and at Avila College in Missouri from 1992-1995.
