HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - State Sherriff's conducted a warrant sweep Tuesday night as part of an on-going effort targeting outstanding warrants. Sheriff's say they made 39 arrests and cleared 60 warrants.
The sweep targeted traffic, Grand Jury, Probation/Parole violations and criminal outstanding warrants and included 12 felony and 48 traffic.
7 of those arrested were unable to post bail and were sent to the Honolulu Police Department for an overnight stay, according to officials.
"We will continue to work at reducing the existing warrants backlog by utilizing sweeps to maximize limited resources," said State Sheriff Shawn Tsuha. "We encourage anyone with a warrant to turn themselves in."
