HONOLULU - (Hawaii Athletics) In addition to several other promotional initiatives, the University of Hawai'i Athletics Department is planning three pep rallies this week in order to get UH-Manoa students excited about the upcoming football season and the home opener this Saturday, Sept. 15, at 6:00 p.m. against Lamar.

On Wednesday (Sept. 12), Chancellor Tom Apple, Head Coach Norm Chow and members of the football coaching staff, the band and the cheerleading squad will stop by the cafeteria at Gateway dormitory at 6:00 p.m. to help psyche up the students for the home opener. There will be giveaways, prizes, and information about free bus transportation to Aloha Stadium and free student admission by showing their valid UH-Manoa identification card.

On Thursday (Sept. 13), a pep rally will be held at the Campus Center (adjacent to Jamba Juice, at the bottom of the stairs) at noon. Chancellor Apple, Coach Chow and members of the UH football coaching staff will once again be joined by the band and the cheerleaders.

In addition, the Athletics Department will have two informational tables in the Campus Center (across from Jamba Juice) on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. to distribute information to students and answer questions about game-related items.
