(HawaiiNewsNow) - On average, 4 first responders who served at Ground Zero die each and every week from their exposures during the rescue and recovery. Gear Up Foundation wants to make the public aware of the ongoing, rising death toll of those who served at Ground Zero. Additionally, they endeavor to memorialize those who responded on 9/11/2001 and also died that day but just didn't know it till their symptoms started! They do this through efforts to add their name on the blue field to our American Tribute Flag. It is painfully evident from these long lasting, fatal afflictions, arising from countless individual acts of selflessness and bravery at Ground Zero, that the attack and carnage did not end on that day.
Gear Up Foundation along with its partners are committed to improving the quality of life of those who continue to suffer and succumb from their illnesses brought on by their Ground Zero service.
Proceeds will go towards meeting the goal to improve the quality of life of 300 brave first responders to Ground Zero over the next year. The cost of these respiratory products and therapeutic services per hero is: $3,000.00. A small price to pay for the heroic actions of our first responders.
