Wahine soccer team defeats Detroit in overtime

WAIPAHU (HawaiiNewsNow)- The University of Hawaii women's soccer team won the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Soccer Classic with a thrilling 2-1 overtime win over the Detroit Titans.

Christy Watanabe scored the game-winner in the first overtime period to keep Hawaii's undefeated in its last seven matches.

After playing six straight home matches, UH heads back on the road for the first time in a month to play at Washington State (Sept. 14) and Eastern Washington (Sept. 16).
