Dan is keeping a close eye on the radar this morning because there's a chance for rain, possibly heavy. Oahu & Kauai could see thunderstorms throughout the day. Some roads are slick. We'll be tracking traffic problems every 10 minutes. Plus, get a look ahead to our weekend forecast on Sunrise.
HAWAII DELEGATES HEADING HOME FROM DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION
Hawaii delegates are flying back home from Charlotte, North Carolina after a whirlwind convention. It wrapped last night with President Barack Obama officially accepting the party's nomination for a second term. President Obama set a new twitter record with his speech. Details, plus a wrap with national correspondent Tracie Potts on Sunrise.
The City has filed a motion for the Hawaii Supreme Court to reconsider its ruling to stop construction all archaeological work is complete. The Court now has 10 days to decide if it will reconsider. The delay is expected to be at least 7 months or longer if ancient bones are found along the rail line.
West Hawaii Today has an amazing picture of a shark that made a beeline for two men who were spear fishing off the Kona coast. We'll have the jaw-dropping look at the 8-foot blue shark for you on Sunrise.

Food Network Host & Chef Robert Irvine is here for the 2nd annual Hawaii Food and Wine Festival. Lucky for us, Roy Yamaguchi has convinced this Celebrity Chef to whip up something in our Sunrise kitchen. They'll drop by this morning at 8:10.

Plus, you see her as style expert on the Today Show. Now, celebrity stylist Bobbie Thomas is in town for the fall fashion event at Ala Moana Center. She'll show us the hot new beauty trends at 8:20.
