Honolulu Zoo announces names for its baby warthogs

WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Zoo has selected the winning names in its baby warthog contest.

According to the zoo's Facebook page, the staff selected the prize-winning names for its three warthog-lets.

Kanani was chosen for the first female warthog, which means "the beauty, the glory."

The male baby warthog was named, Pono, meaning "goodness, righteousness."

The second female was named, Mana'olana, which means "faith, hope, confidence."

According to the zoo's website, the three warthogs were born on May 8 and are thriving in their exhibit.
