Republican National Convention Wraps Up, Isaac Aftermath, & Rail Setbacks

Good evening! Here's what we're working on for the news at 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

ROMNEY WRAPS UP RNC

GOP Presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, closed out the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida tonight. He touched on a myriad of topics, including his personal life, the state of the country -- and his religion. We'll have a live report from Tampa at 5:30 p.m. on KHNL.

ISAAC AFTERMATH

It's been two days since Hurricane Isaac made landfall. And even though it's been downgraded, Isaac is still causing major problems -- and fear.

RAIL LEADER TALKS ABOUT LEGAL SETBACKS

The head of the City's rail transit project talked about legal setbacks that have befallen the controversial project. Tim Sakahara was at today's rail meeting and will have that story.

STATE PART OF BIG SETTLEMENT OVER FALSE ADS

And Hawaii is line to get millions of dollars as part of a settlement over the false, deceptive ads by a pharmaceutical company. The total settlement amount is nearly $190 million.

That's all tonight when you join Stephanie Lum and me for Hawaii News Now at 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Aloha,

Shawn Ching
