HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The U.S. Geological Survey says that a magnitude-7.3 earthquake has struck off the coast of El Salvador.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there was no tsunami threat to Hawaii; a tsunami warning issued for Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and Mexico was dropped.
There were no immediate reports of damages or injuries after the quake struck.
The earthquake was located 86 miles (138 kilometers) south-southwest of San Miguel, the USGS reported on its web site.
The temblor took place at a depth of 32.9 miles (53 kilometers).
