Fire during Saturday flare-up
Honolulu fire crews returned once again to the scene of a brush fire in Waikele Sunday when it started up for a third time.
The blaze flared up in the Waikele Gulch area at about noon Sunday. It originally started around 7 p.m. Friday and was called under control about three hours later. It flared up again Saturday morning sometime before 11 and was extinguished at about 3 p.m.
The blazes have scorched a total of 50 acres so far. The cause remains undetermined.
