KANEOHE (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man who stabbed two people at the Koko Crater trail in 2009 can now take classes at Windward Community College under supervision.

According to the school, Benjamin Davis will be escorted to and from class. The state hospital patient will also be monitored during class.

In addition, the campus will also add more personnel to its security staff.

Davis was receiving mental health treatment in Kaneohe since the stabbing three years ago.

Last week, a judge ruled that Davis could attend classes unsupervised, but a public backlash forced school officials to add the escorts.
