HPD involved in stand-off near military housing community

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Police Department and military police officers are involved in a stand-off situation involving an adult male at a military housing community in the Salt Lake area, according to reports.

According to the Navy Region Public Affairs Office, HPD and Base Police responded at around 5:30 p.m. to a report that someone had barricaded themselves in a home in the vicinity of McCurry Place and Stowell Circle in the Radford Terrace community.

Responding officers set up a perimeter around the house, and a SWAT team is reportedly at the scene, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

Neighbors say that the man has three small children, though they are not believed to be in the home at this time.
