HONOLULU – Monday was a busy day at Warriors practice. One quarterback moved to the top of the depth
chart, while another moved to a different position.
Head Coach Norm Chow installed transfer Sean Schroeder as
the #1 QB. It is not a move set in
stone, but one to give the team cohesiveness and confidence as fall camp moves
forward.
"It's just that daily competition. We have to have something set in place so we
can get a routine going" said Chow.
Schroeder, who has displayed a humble demeanor since
transferring to Manoa, added "All I can control is my end, and that's running the offense as best
as I can, and try to be as much a leader as I can out here."
As for
Graves, he handled the position switch with grace. "I'm taking the opportunity with open arms. I have a history with playing the position,
throughout high school, and I've played a number of different positions out
here. So, I'm definitely taking the
opportunity with open arms."
Also
taking an opportunity with open arms was punter Alex Dunnachie, who returned to
practice following a plea of no contest to suspicion of DUI. Dunnachie is suspended indefinitely, but will
be allowed to practice with the team.
