Ben Cayetano Hospitalized, H2 Freeway Lights Turning On, & Halawa Yard Threat

It's Monday and here's what we're working on for Hawaii News Now at 5 p.m.

CAYETANO HOSPITALIZED

Former Gov. Ben Cayetano, is in the hospital tonight. Reports are that he is suffering from a bleeding ulcer. In recent polling, Cayetano leads the race for Honolulu Mayor. Tonight at 5 p.m., we'll hear from Cayetano's wife on his condition and when he's expected to be released from the hospital.

FREEWAY LIGHTS

After several years, the State is now making repairs to the freeway lights along the H-2 Freeway after thieves stole copper lines to the lights. But is the State putting in safeguards to prevent the same sort of thing from happening again? Jim Mendoza will have more on that story.

C&C HALAWA YARD THREAT

It's a Hawaii News Now exclusive: two workers at a City corporation yard in Halawa are under investigation for threatening a security guard. Keoki Kerr has the story that involves a wild pig, beer, and reportedly unruly City workers.

SEN. INOUYE TOURS RAIL

Also, Hawaii's Senior Senator toured the blessing of the City's rail project maintenance facility near Leeward Community College.

OLYMPIC HIGHLIGHTS

And Sports Director, Chris Tanaka, will have all of your Olympic highlights from London 2012.

We'll have these stories -- plus Guy Hagi's forecast for the start of the work week -- when you join Stephanie Lum and me at 5 p.m.

Aloha,
Shawn Ching
