Man gets 30-year sentence for death of elderly woman

A man who plead guilty to a deadly home invasion was sentenced Monday to 30 years in prison.

Under a plea deal Zachary Robinson  pleaded guilty to manslaughter, first-degree assault and first-degree robbery.

Prosecutors say Robinson and Cody Mikami entered into a house on Halekoa Drive on January 21, 2010, and beat Mary Lee Koskinen, 85, and her live-in caretaker, Matthew Edmondson, 40. According to court documents, police found a brick and a tire iron covered with blood, as well as illegal drugs inside the home.

Robinson also pleaded guilty to an unrelated burglary. The 30-year prison term covered both cases.

A judge also sentenced Cody Mikami to 20 years in prison for his role in the beating.
