Honolulu police arrested a man in Pearl City suspected of assaulting his roommate. Hawaii News Now's Ramsay Wharton is following the story. She'll have the latest coming up on Sunrise.

JOBLESS CLAIMS FALL

Hawaii new weekly jobless claims fell almost to 1,700 last week. The new figure is the lowest since last November. Howard Dicus will have a full report on Sunrise.

Forget the frozen Zippy's chili... Residents in Hilo will be able to get a fresh bowl without leaving the Big Island. Next summer, the chain reportedly plans to open a restaurant at Prince Kuhio Plaza. It's the company's second neighbor-island location. One opened in Kahului, Maui four years ago.
