Vehicle spills containers of papaya on Nimitz Highway

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police temporarily blocked off three eastbound lanes on Nimitz Highway Wednesday morning after a vehicle spilled several containers of papaya and broccoli on the road.

The incident happened just before 7 a.m. near Ahua Street.

According to police, the vehicle fled the scene.

Officers swept most of the papaya and broccoli off the road. A truck then performed final clean-up work.

No injuries were reported.

Police reopened the three eastbound lanes just before 8 a.m.
