Special fund set up to help family of fallen officer

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A special memorial fund has been set up for fallen Honolulu Police Officer Chad Morimoto.

The Hawaii Law Enforcement Federal Credit Union is accepting monetary donations on behalf of his family.

Morimoto was killed Monday while participating in motorcycle escort training at Mililani District Park.

Cash or check donations may be submitted by mail at: The Officers Chad Morimoto Fund c/o The Hawaii Law Enforcement Federal Credit Union, 1537 Young Street, 3rd Floor, Honolulu, Hawaii 96826, or in-person at any of the following branch locations:

  • Main Branch:

    Honolulu, Hawaii 96826
    Hours:   Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Kapolei:

     889 Kamokila Boulevard (in the Crossroads at Kapolei)
     Hawaii 96707
     Hours:   Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
     Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  •  Pearl City Police Station:

    Pearl City, Hawaii 96782
    Hours:   Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Donation checks may be made payable to:  "The Officer Chad Morimoto Fund c/o Hawaii Law Enforcement Federal Credit Union."  Hawaii Law Enforcement Federal Credit Union members may also submit donations by transferring funds straight from their accounts via telephone by simply contacting our call center at (808) 973-4311 and speaking to one of our Member Care Representatives.  Call center hours are Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
