HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police shut down the eastbound lanes of the H-1 freeway in the Punahou area for nearly four hours Monday. That created a back-up that stretched for miles.
Police say a man reportedly in his 30's from Honolulu was seen standing on the McCully Street Bridge before jumping into traffic on the freeway below.
Authorities tell us the jumper was hit by a bus and died at the scene. Police investigated for several hours before all lanes finally re-opened around 7:30 p.m.
