Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (HawaiiNewsNow) - Maui's Shane Victorino notched his 1,000th career hit Saturday against the San Francisco Giants.
The St. Anthony grad recorded a single in the bottom of the 6th off pitcher Matt Cain. In the process, Victorino becomes the first MLB player from Hawaii to record one thousand hits in the bigs.
On the day, Victorino went 1-4 with a run scored, although his Phillies fell to the Gianst 6-5 in 10-innings.
