A Kona man has been arrested and charged by Big Island Police in connection with the theft of vehicle in May.
Police say 22-year old Jesse Travis Ralston of Kailua-Kona was arrested on Tuesday for the theft of a 1995 Honda Accord from the nearby Seaview subdivision sometime between 6 p.m. May 14 and 6:30 a.m. May 15.
The vehicle was later recovered after a South Kohala patrol officer made a routine traffic stop, but the driver fled the scene on foot and police were unable to locate the man.
Ralston was charged on Thursday with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle. He was released Thursday night after posting $2,000 bail.
