RIMPAC EVACUATION
A 22 year old sailor had to be medically evacuated from a San Diego based Navy warship in Hawaii for the Rimpac Exercises. A Coast Guard helicopter from Barbers Point and an HC-130 Hercules aircraft diverted from training on Maui to assist in the rescue aboard the USS Gary. Ramsay will have details on Sunrise.
SWORD ATTACK
A 26 year old Manoa man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder for a sword attack. Police say Alexander Spafford allegedly hit another man in the head with a sword overnight.
H-1 FREEWAY RE-STRIPING
Work continues to re-stripe the H-1 freeway bottleneck near Punahou. It's being converted from 3 lanes to 4 between the Pali and Punahou. Crews will return overnight. The work is scheduled from 9 pm to 4 am Sundays through Thursdays and 10 pm to 6 am Fridays and Saturdays.Timeline for completion? 3 weeks.
