New York, NEW YORK (HawaiiNewsNow) - Jerome Williams long awaited return to the Angels starting rotation was overshadowed by the Bronx Bombers who beat the Anaheim 5-3 Saturday.
The Waipahu native gave up a pair of two run home runs (Robinson Cano in the 1st, and Curtis Granderson in the 3rd) in his first start since being placed on the disabled list after suffering a severe asthma attack against the San Francisco Giants on June 12th.
Williams lasted 6 innings, giving up 5 earned runs on 7 hits and striking out four Yankees.
But, no doubt, it was New York who got the best of Williams who lost his 4th straight start and saw his record fall to 6-6 and ERA balloon to 4.63.
