Dispute blocks KITV from Time Warner Cable

HONOLULU (AP) - Hawaii television station KITV is not on the air for Time Warner Cable customers.

The ABC affiliate says its contract with Time Warner expired at midnight Tuesday.

The KITV signal remains available over the air, on other cable systems and satellite providers including DIRECTV and DISH Network.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports that Time Warner says KITV parent company Hearst Television wanted a nearly 300% rate increase.

KITV says it can't predict when discussions with Time Warner will resume or if and when programming will be restored.

Popular ABC shows include "The Bachelorette," ''Duets" and daytime talk-show "The View."
