Military personnel re-commit aboard USS Missouri on Independence Day

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The Fourth of July was a special day for 50 members of the United States military who re-committed their services in defending our freedom aboard the USS Missouri.

Rear Admiral Frank Ponds, Commander Navy Region Hawaii, conducted the ceremony, which included 48 sailors from Pacific Sea and Shore Commands and two soldiers from the 25th Infantry Division based on Schofield Barracks.

More than 150 friends and family members gathered for the ceremony, which took place beneath the Mighty Mo's sixteen-inch guns.
