(HawaiiNewsNow) - Outside hitter Clay Stanley is bound for the Olympics for the third time in his career. The former Warrior volleyball star was named to the 2012 U.S. Men's Volleyball team Thursday.
The Kaiser high product was a member of the 2008 squad who won the gold medal in Beijing, becoming the first U.S. team to do so in 20 years.
Stanley also was a member of the 2004 squad who won a bronze medal in Athens.
Team U.S.A. is currently ranked 6th in the world.
Stanley is the third volleyball player with Hawaii ties who is headed to London. Punahou grad Lindsey Berg and Kalani high alum Tamari Miyashiro are on the Women's team.
